Bhuni Maash ki Daal Recipe

Bhuni Maash ki Daal recipe by Zubaida Tariq is to be deliciously cooked at live cooking show “Handi” on Masala TV only.

Ingredients

  • White Lentil (soaked) 1 cup
  • Onions (finely chopped) 2
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Red Chili Powder 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Garlic Cloves (peeled and chopped) 4
  • Ginger Garlic (grinded) 1 tbsp
  • Black Pepper 4
  • Cinnamon 2
  • Cloves 4
  • Green Chilies 3
  • Ginger (finely chopped) 2 tbsp
  • Mint Leaves (finely chopped) ½ bunch
  • Green Chilies (finely chopped) 3
  • Oil 1 cup
  • Butter 1 tbsp

Method

1. Heat 1 cup oil in a saucepan and fry 2 finely chopped onions till they turn golden brown.Remove and spread on a tissue paper.
2. Now add peeled and chopped garlic cloves in the oil and fry them till they turn golden brown. Add 1 cup soaked white lentils, 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste, 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tbsp red chili powder, 4 black pepper, 2 cinnamon and 4 cloves. Cook slightly for a while.
3. Add salt and 3 green chilies and 2 cup hot water, stir and cover the pan with the lid. Leave the pan on low flame. When the water dries off, keep it on a pan to simmer.
4. Now add finely chopped mint leaves, some chopped ginger, 3 finely chopped green chilies and 1 tbsp butter. When the ingredients are all tender enough sprinkle fried onions, mint leaves and chopped green chilies, chopped ginger and serve.
