Shaljum Murgh by Zubaida Tariq

Ingredients:

  • Chicken (16 Pieces) 1
  • Red Pepper (crushed) 1 tbsp
  • Turnip ½ kg
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Green Chilies (finely chopped) 8
  • Sugar 1 tbsp
  • Lemons 4
  • Allspice Powder 1 tsp
  • Yogurt ½ cup
  • Black Pepper (crushed) 1 tsp
  • Coriander Leaves (chopped) 1 bunch
  • Ginger Garlic Paste 1 tbsp
  • Oil 1 cup

 

Method:

  1. Peel and chop turnip into small cubes
  2. Add washed chicken pieces in a wok with ginger garlic and salt.
  3. Cook till water dries.
  4. Add oil, seasonings and cook for a while.
  5. Fry turnip in another pan and add fried turnip cubes to the chicken with sugar, lemon, green chilies, coriander, all spice.
  6. Leave it to simmer .
  7. When water in the wok dries off , stir and cook.
  8. Serve hot.
