Okhai Daal by Shireen Anwar

Ingredients:

  • Mongh ki daal ½ cup
  • Masoor ki daal ½ cup
  • Channay ki daal ½ cup
  • Salt 1-1/2 tsp
  • Chili powder 1 ½ tsp
  • Turmeric ½ tsp
  • Oil ¼ cup
  • Butter ¼ cup
  • Spinach finally chopped ½ cup
  • Dill chopped ½ bunch
  • Meethi chopped 3 bunches
  • Onion chopped 1 cup
  • Loki cut into small cubes 200 grams
  • Tomatoes chopped 2
  • Ginger chopped 1 tbsp
  • Green chilies chopped 4
  • Raw Mangoes ¼ cup
  • Stock cubes 2

 

Ingredients for bhaggar:

  • Oil ¼ cup
  • Curry leaves 15
  • Cumin seeds 1 ½ tsp
  • Whole red chilies 6
  • Lemon juice ¼ cup

 

Method:

  1. Soak all the 3 daals for 2 hour, and then put in a pan for boil, with salt, chili powder, turmeric, all half tsp each heaped.
  2. And quarter cup oil, till daal tender.
  3. Then add in all the vegetables with 2 cups water, stock cube, and cook till vegetables tender, lastly give bhgaar with the given ingredients.
