Beef Vindaloo Recipe by Chef Gulzar at Dawat

Ingredients
Beef (With Bone)                ½ kg
Ginger                         1 inch piece
Garlic                         4-5 cloves
Onion                         2-3
Cumin Seeds                    1 tbsp
Cloves                        6-7
Cinnamon                     2 sticks
Crushed Black Pepper                 ½ tsp
Star Anise                     3-4
Poppy Seeds                    1 tsp
Tamarind Paste                     ½ cup
Vinegar                        3-4 tbsp
Curry Leaves                     3-4
Oil                         ½ cup
Salt                         to taste

Method
Take a blender jug add 1 inch piece of ginger, 4-5 cloves of garlic, ½ cup of tamarind,3-4tbsp of vinegar mix it well to make a paste. Take a mixing bowl adds ½ kg of a beef (with bone) and add all the mixture and marinate it for half an hour. Take a cooking  pan add ½ cup of oil add 2 sticks of cinnamon, 6-7 cloves, 1 tbsp of  cumin seeds mix it well when its popping add 2-3 onions and fry, then add marinated beef  and cook on a low flame and fry now add 1 tsp of poppy seeds, 3-4 star anise , ½ tsp of crushed black pepper and add to taste salt mix it well and cook now add as required water to tender the beef, when its tender add add 3-4 curry leaves mix it well and cook 2-3 minutes and steam  it when the steam is done take it out in a serving bowl and serve it. Now beef vandalo is ready.
