Chatpattay Drumsticks By Chef Mehboob Khan in Mehboob’s Kitchen

Ingredients:

  • Drumsticks                                ½ kg
  • Cayenne Pepper               4
  • Lemon                                  1
  • Potatoes                              2
  • Whole Red Pepper          4-6
  • Green Chilies                     4-6
  • Garlic                            6-8 cloves
  • Cumin                           1 tsp
  • Ginger (chopped)    1 tbsp
  • Sugar                            1 tbsp
  • Tamarind Paste        2-3 tbsp
  • Oil                                  8-10 tbsp
  • Salt                                to taste

Method:

  1. Heat oil in pan, add garlic, whole red pepper, Cayenne Pepper and cumin, stir well.
  2. Now take another pan and sauté chopped garlic, add drumsticks, fry then add water to the pan.
  3. Blend all spices together.
  4. Heat oil in another pan, fry sliced potatoes, add some water and cook well.
  5. Add blended chilies paste to drumsticks with tamarind paste, salt, sugar and lemon juice.
  6. Add salt and chopped green chilies to potatoes.
  7. Add ginger to drumsticks; remove potatoes and drumsticks together in a platter.
  8. Lastly pour the remaining masala from the pan and garnish with ginger. Serve hot
