Chocolate Cocoa Cake

Chocolate Cocoa Cake recipe by Shireen Anwar is to be cooked at live cooking show “Masala Mornings” only on Masala TV.

Ingredients for cake:

  • Flour 1 ¾ cup
  • Chocolate powder 1 cup
  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Coco powder 4 tbsp heaved
  • Baking soda 2 tsp
  • Baking powder 1 tsp
  • Salt half tsp
  • Oil half cup
  • Eggs 2 to 3
  • Butter milk 1 cup
  • Vanilla essence 1 tsp heaved
  • 4 tbsp yogurt
  • Hot coffee 1 cup

Ingredients for frosting:

  • Dark chocolate chopped 200 gms
  • Milk chocolate 200 gms chopped
  • Cream 1 cup
  • Chocolate powder half cup
  • Butter 100 gms

Method:

  1. In a bowl put flour, chocolate powder, coco powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt. 
  2. Keep aside. In another bowl add half cup oil, 1 cup sugar. Beat for 2 mins. 
  3. Add in 1 egg at a time with vanilla essence. Beat for another 2 to 3 mins. 
  4. Fold in dry ingredients alternating with butter milk, yogurt and hot coffee. 
  5. Mix well, pour batter into 8 or 9 inches round pan. 
  6. Bake for 30 mins on 180 degrees.

Method for frosting:

  1. Scald 1 cup cream. Add in chocolate powderboth the chocolates to make ganache. 
  2. Cool and beat. 
  3. While beating, add in 100 gms butter 1 ounce at a time and beat till frosting light and fluffy. 
  4. Cover center and sides and top with frosting.
