Date Barley Kheer
Ingredients:
Apples (Chopped) ½ cup
Sugar 1 tsp
Low-fat milk 2 ½ cups
Sugar ¼ cup
Dates (Chopped) ¼ cup
Barley ¼ cup
Walnuts (Chopped) 1 tbsp
Method:
Combine the apples, sugar and 3 tbsp of water in a non-stick pan and cook over a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring continuously.
Refrigerate to chill.
Combine the milk, barley, sugar and dates in a deep non-stick pan, mix well and simmer for 10 minutes while stirring continuously.
Refrigerate to chill.
Add the cooked apples to the milk-dates mixture.
Serve chilled and garnished with walnuts and apples.
