Fish Biryani Recipe by Shireen Anwar

Fish Biryani recipe by Shireen Anwar is to be cooked today at live cooking program “Masala Mornings” only on Masala TV.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Fish ½ kg
  • Ginger garlic 1 tbsp
  • Chili powder 2 tsp
  • All spice 1 tsp
  • Coconut milk ½ cup
  • Turmeric ½ tsp
  • White cumin roasted and crushed 1½ tsp
  • Lemon juice 2 tbsp
  • Tomatoes 3 sliced
  • Brown onion 1 cup
  • Salt 2 tsp
  • Oil ½ cup
  • Green chilies 4 chopped
  • Coriander leaves ½ cup chopped
  • Rice ½ kg
  • Whole mix spices 1 tbsp
  • Fenugreek leaves 4 small bunches

METHOD:

  1. Marinate fish with salt, ginger garlic, chili powder, turmeric, all spice, cumin and lemon juice.
  2. Heat oil and shallow fry fish for 5 mins and keep aside.
  3. Heat oil in another pan and add fenugreek leaves, brown onion and the left over masala from the fish with chopped tomatoes and half cup water.
  4. Fry well; add in fish with coconut milk.
  5. Cover and leave it on dum.

METHOD FOR RICE:

  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Add whole spices with soaked rice then add water salt.
  3. Cover and cook till rice done.
  4. Add all the fish mixture on top of the rice.
  5. Keep it on slow flame for 20 mins.
  6. Fish Biryani is ready, now serve to your family.
