Salad, Zarnak Sidhwa

Frozen Salad Recipe by Zarnak Sidhwa in Food Diaries

Ingredients :
 Curd             ½ kg
 Gelatin             2 tbsp
 1 Tomato, deseeded and finely chopped
 1 Capsicum, deseeded and finely chopped
 1 Cucumber finely chopped , salted and drained
 2 Green Chilies chopped
 1 tbsp Mint Leaves finely chopped
 1/2cup Pomegranate Seeds
 Salt ¼ tsp
Sugar 1 tsp
Ground Roasted Cumin Powder,  ½ tsp
Red Chili Powder,  ½ tsp
Chaat Masala,  ½ tsp
Apple,Tomato, Iceberg Lettuce, for garnish.

Method :
Beat the Curd and season with salt, sugar,red chili powder,chat masala and cumin powder. Add 1/2 cup water to 2 tbsp of Gelatin and let it soften Then heat gently and let it dissolve . don’t let it boil.  Let it cool a bit , and incorporate it into the curd with an electric beater.  Add the cucumber, tomato, capsicum, and finely chopped mint to the curd .  Add half the pomegranate seeds also. Pour into a Lightly oiled ring mould and freeze till set …about 4 hours.  Turn out on a plate surrounded by your salad of apple tomato and iceberg lettuce.  Serve with Biryani..
