Hareerah
Ingredients:
Lamb (Cubed) 750 g
Tomatoes 300 g
Onion (Chopped) 1
Oil/butter 3-4 tbsp
Chickpeas (Boiled) ¼ cup
Turmeric (Ground) ½ tsp
Taara garam masala ½ tsp
Cilantro (Chopped) 3 tbsp
Split red lentils ¼ cup
Method:
Sauté chopped onions in oil.
Add chopped tomatoes (or tomato paste), stir for 5 minutes.
Add lamb, spices and cook over medium heat, stirring every minute or so.
Add 3 cups of water, or to desired thickness.
Rinse lentils, and add to pot with boiled chickpeas.
Season with salt and pepper, bring to boil, cover and simmer gently for 1 hour.
Add cilantro, cook for 30 minutes, and serve hot.
