Jahangeeri Kofta By Chef Gulzar

Ingredients: 

for Meat Balls:

  • Chicken Mince                         1/2  kg
  • Spinach                                      ½ kg
  • Onion                                          1
  • Eggs                                            2
  • Bread Slices                               2
  • Garlic (crushed)                       1 tbsp
  • Red Chili Powder                      1 tbsp
  • Cumin Powder                           1 tsp
  • Black Pepper (crushed)            1 tsp
  • Baking Powder                           ½ tsp
  • Papaya Paste                              2 tbsp

For Gravy:

  • Tomato Puree                              1 cup
  • Yogurt                                            1 cup
  • Red Chili Paste                             1-1/2 tbsp
  • Garam Masala Powder                1 tsp
  • Cumin Powder                              1 tsp
  • Ginger Garlic Paste                      2 tbsp
  • Onion Paste                                   1 cup
  • Oil                                                    3-4 tbsp
  • Salt                                                   to taste

Method:

  1. For Meat Balls: wash and steam spinach, keep it aside
  2. Grind all together along with spinach in a chopper and make a fine mixture for the meat balls. Make balls out of it.
  3. For Gravy:
  4. Heat oil and fry onions till light brown,
  5. Add ginger garlic paste, fry for 2 min.
  6. Add tomato puree and yogurt
  7. Add rest of the spices and cook well
  8. When the gravy is thick add water along with kofta balls, cook on low flame for 10-15 min.
  9. Dish out and garnish with pistachios
