Karela Gosht by Tahir Chaudhary

Ingredients:

  • 300 gm Mutton
  • 5-6 medium sized bitter melon
  • 2 or 3 medium sized Onions
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tsp Amchur Powder
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Peel bitter melon Wash them in running water.
  2. Then Chop. Remove the seeds and Slice the onions as well.
  3. In a karahi, heat oil. Add the chopped bitter melon.
  4. Sauté the bitter melon on medium heat for 2 minutes.
  5. Lower the flame and sauté for 2-3 minutes more and put on a side.
  6. Sauté the mutton on medium heat and add water to make soft.
  7. Mix the sliced onions, bitter melon with mutton.
  8. Sauté again for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Now add the turmeric powder, red chili powder and salt.
  10. Stir. Cook vegetable without any lid for 7-8 minutes till the both the karela and onions are cooked and sautéed well.
  11. The onions will become brown.
  12. When the bitter melon and meat is ready then sprinkle the amchur powder and garam masala powder.
  13. Mix it and Serve.
