Ingredients:
- Red Lentils 1 cup
- Tamarind Juice 1 cup
- Green Chilies 4
- Curry Leaves Few
- Turmeric Powder 1 tsp
- Red Chili Powder 1 tbsp
- Ginger Garlic Paste 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Ingredients for baghar:
- Red Chilies 6 whole
- Curry Leaves Few
- Oil ½ cup
- White Cumin 1 tsp
Method:
- Boil 1 cup red lentils. Blend boiled lentils in a blender.
- Add blended lentils to a cooking pot along with 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tbsp red chili powder, 1 cup tamarind juice, few curry leaves, 4 green chilies and some water.
- Allow cooking until green chilies are tender.
For baghar:
- heat ½ cup oil. Add 6 whole red chilies, few curry leaves and 1 tsp white cumin to hot oil and immediately pour over daal.
