Machli ka Salan Recipe by Chef Rida Aftab in Tarka

Ingredients:

Surmai Fish                1 kg
Onion Paste               1 cup
Yogurt                  250 gms
Red Chili Powder             2 tsp
Turmeric Powder            1 tsp
Salt                   ½ tsp
Desiccated Coconut              2 tsp
Ground Poppy Seeds            2 tsp
Dried Fenygreek Leaves        1 tsp
Oil                   ½ cup
Lemon Juice                 4 tbsp
Ginger Garlic Paste             1 tbsp
Garam Masala Powder          ½ tsp

Method:
•    Marinate surmai fish pieces with lemon juice, ginger garlic paste and leave for 2 hours.
•    In a pan, heat oil adds fish pieces and fry, take it out.
•    In the same oil,add  onion paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, desiccated coconut, ground poppy seeds, dried fenygreek leaves, garam masala powder and beaten yogurt.
•    Fry well. Add water and let it cook for 10 minutes.
•    Now, add fish, and cook further 10 minutes.
•    Off the flame, sprinkle green chilies and coriander leaves.
