Moong Daal kay Pakoray

Ingredients:

  • Yellow lentils                                                      1 cup
  • Green Chilies (finely chopped)                  4
  • Peanuts                                                                               ½ cup
  • Coriander Leaves (finely chopped)          ½  bunch
  • Soda bicarbonate                                             1 tsp
  • Carom Seeds                                                     1 tsp
  • All Spice powder                                              1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds (roasted & ground)              1 tsp
  • Red Chili Powder                                              1 tbsp
  • Chaat Masala                                                     as required
  • Oil                                                                           as required
  • Salt                                                                         to taste
  • For Yogurt
  • Yogurt                                                                   ½ kg
  • Fresh Milk                                                           1 cup
  • Corn Flour                                                           1 tbsp
  • Sugar                                                                     1 tbsp
  • Salt                                                                         to taste

Method:

  1. Whisk together ½ kg yogurt, 1 cup fresh milk, 1 tbsp corn flour, 1 tbsp sugar and salt.
  2. Now soak 1 cup Moon beans in luke warm water and grind them in a chopper.
  3. Now mix 1 tsp soda bicarbonate, 1 tsp carom seeds, 1 tsp round all spice, 1 tbsp red chili powder, 1 tsp roasted and ground cumin seeds and salt.
  4. Mix well and keep it aside.
  5. Now heat oil in a frying pan, make small pakoras from marinated daal and fry them until they turn golden brown.
  6. Spread a layer of yogurt in a dish and add fried pakora in it.
  7. Now pour yogurt again with tamarind sweet and sour chutney.
  8. In the end sprinkle chaat masala , 4 finely chopped green chilies
  9. Add  ½ bunch finely chopped coriander leaves and ½ cup peanuts.
