Murgh Masala Chawal by Chef Rida Aftab in Tarka

Ingredients:

  • Chicken             1 kg
  • Rice (boiled)           ½ kg
  • Whole Garlic            1 bulb
  • Butter              50 gms
  • Papaya                1 tbsp
  • Black Pepper (crushed)       2 tsp
  • Red Chilies (crushed)          2 tsp
  • Green Chilies Paste          2 tsp
  • Star Anise Seeds        2
  • Turmeric Powder          1 tsp
  • Cinnamon              1 piece
  • Cloves               2
  • Yogurt                250 gms
  • Salt                            1 tsp
  • Coal                 1 piece
  • Onions (chopped)          2
  • Oil                 ½ cup

Method:

  1.  In a pan, heat butter, add whole garlic fry and take it out in pot.
  2. Marinate chicken with garlic, yogurt, papaya, crushed black pepper
  3. Add star anise seeds, turmeric powder, cinnamon, cloves, and crushed red chilies, salt.
  4. After this, in a pan, heat oil adds onions until brown
  5. Add marinated chicken pieces and rice let it simmer for half an hour.
  6. When chicken and rice are tenders mix it and give coal steam.
  7. Murgh Masala Chawal is ready.
