Ingredients:
- spinach 2 cups, chopped
- Beef 1cup, small chunk
- Chana daal 1cup boiled
- Onion 1 small, chopped
- Garlic pods 2 to 3, minced
- Ginger 1 tbsp
- Cumin powder 2 tsp
- Coriander powder 1 tsp
- Red chili powder 1/2 tsp, or to taste (used 3 green chilies)
- Turmeric powder a pinch
- Salt to taste
- Oil 4 tbsp
Method:
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the onions till they turn soft and transparent.
- Add the cumin, coriander, chilli and turmeric powders and fry for another minute.
- Mince the garlic and ginger together.
- Add to the above.
- Add the beef ,dal and very 2cup water.
- Keep covered and cook till meat tender and are almost done.
- Now add the spinach and some salt.
- Mix well and cook on a low flame for 15 to 20 mins.
- Palak dal gosht goes very well with chapatis, rice.
