Plain Tea Cake

Ingredients:

 

  • Butter 6 ounces
  • Sugar 6 ounces
  • Flour 6 ounces
  • Baking powder 1½ tsp
  • Eggs 3 separated
  • Lemon essence ½ tsp
  • Lemon peel 1 tsp
  • Milk ¼ cup
  • Yellow color pinch

Method:

 

  1. Beat butter and sugar till creamy, add egg yolks 1 at a time till all 3 have been added
  2. Add lemon essence, lemon peel, and yellow color
  3. Fold in the sieved mixture of flour and baking powder alternating with milk.
  4. Pour mixture into a well greased loaf tin and bake on 180 D for 35 mins.
  5. Remove and serve with tea.
