Podina Daal Bun Kabab by Shireen Anwar at Masala Mornings

Ingredients:

  • ChanaykiDaal                1 ½ cup
  • Salt                        1 tsp
  • Ginger                     1 inch piece
  • Garlic (crushed)            1 tbsp
  • Water                    2 ½  cup
  • Bread                    4 slices
  • Potatoes (boiled & mashed)    1 cup
  • All Spice                    1 tsp
  • Khatai Powder            ½ tsp heaped
  • Flour                    to coat
  • Mint Leaves (chopped)        2 tbsp
  • Onions (finely chopped)    1
  • Gren Chilies (chopped)        3
  • Salt                        ¼ tsp
  • Egg                         to coat
  • Crumbs                    to coat
  • Red Pepper (crushed)        1 ½ tsp
  • Cumin (crushed)            1 tsp
  • To assemble:
  • Burger Buns            4
  • Cucumber            4 slices
  • Tomatoes            4 slices
  • Salad Leaves            few
  • Tamarind Chutney        to serve

Method:

  1. Boil daal with salt, ginger, garlic and water till daal is tender and water dries off.
  2. Now add soaked and squeezed mashed potatoes and all the rest.
  3. Form kabab shape out of this mixture.
  4. Dip in beaten egg , roll in crumbs and deep fry.
