Striped Samosa

Ingredients:

  • Flour                                      2 cup
  • Salt                                         ¾ tsp
  • Clarified butter                 ¼ cup
  • Carom seeds                      ½ tsp
  • Water                                   ½ cup
  • Oil                                           for frying
  • For filling:
  • Boiled potatoes                                2-3
  • Boiled peas                         ¾ cup
  • Curry leaves                       3-4
  • Mango powder                 2 tsp
  • Crushed red chilies          1 tsp
  • Salt                                         to taste
  • Turmeric                              ¼ tsp
  • White cumin                      ¾ tsp
  • Oil                                           4 tbsp
  • Green chilies, coriander                ½ cup

Method:

  1. In a bowl add water, clarified butter or oil, salt and carom seeds.
  2. Then knead flour and leave covered.
  3. For filling heat oil and fry curry leaves and white cumin in it.
  4. Also add salt, crushed red chilies, turmeric and mango powder
  5. Then add boiled potatoes and peas then mix well.
  6. Now add green chilies and coriander and let filling cool down.
  7. Then make small balls of dough and roll down in length and make two pieces from center.
  8. Make cut marks on one piece then put on other piece and roll slightly.
  9. Now put filling and press from sides and fry in hot oil.
