Teh Wali Biryani

Ingredients:

  • Chicken 1 kg 12 pcs
  • Yogurt ½ kg
  • Roasted and crushed cumin 1½ tsp
  • Chili powder 2 tbsp
  • Orange food color ½ tsp
  • Turmeric 1 tsp leveled
  • Salt 1½ tsp
  • Rice 750 gm boiled till 1 kani done and 3 kani raw with 2 tbsp salt
  • Tomatoes 3 medium sliced
  • Potatoes 4 medium cut in thick slices
  • Oil ½ cup heaped
  • Cloves 6
  • Black pepper 6
  • Black cardamom 2
  • Coriander leaves ½ bunch chopped
  • Mint leaves ½ bunch chopped
  • Green chilies 8

 

Method:

  1. Marinate chicken with yogurt, chili powder, turmeric, cumin, salt
  2. Add orange food color, keep aside for 2 hours, in a pan
  3. Now layer sliced potatoes, top with marinated chicken, sprinkle whole spices
  4. Now top with tomato slices, chopped coriander, mint and green chilies
  5. Now top with 1 kani boiled rice, drizzle ½ cup oil on top of rice
  6. Now cover and cook on medium flame for 20 mins
  7. Then put on dum for 20 mins, mix and serve.
